Doctoral studies in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics are conducted in accordance with the provisions of Law 4485/ 2017 and the general institutional framework as applicable at any given time, aim to promote scientific research and lead to the award of a Doctoral Degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics. Holders of a Master’s Degree from a Greek or foreign university recognized as equivalent to a Greek degree, or holders of a single, uninterrupted postgraduate degree as defined in Article 46 of Law 4485/2017, as well as graduates of schools or departments with a 5- or 6-year course of study. In special cases, graduates who do not meet the above requirements may be accepted as doctoral candidates by decision of the Departmental Assembly (Article 38 of Law 4485/17), provided that they attend specific courses and fulfill other additional obligations in accordance with the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics Doctoral Studies Regulations.
