The Practical Training (PT) for students of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics is established elective course and is only available to students in their 6th or 8th semester of study. It is worth twelve (12) ECTS credits, which are not counted towards the total ECTS credits required for the degree but are recorded in the diploma supplement. The PT can be completed within the framework of a (co-)funded program, provided that the necessary conditions and criteria are met.
The PT aims to:
- apply the knowledge of students of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics in real-life situations and gain experience in companies of the private and public sector, where they could potentially also find employment after completing their studies
- create a channel of communication between the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics and businesses in order to facilitate cooperation between them
The PT is implemented during the summer months of each academic year, lasts for two (2) months of full-time employment, and can be completed during the following periods:
- First period: June 1-July 31
- Second period: June 15-August 14
- Third period: July 1-August 31
Prior to the call for applications, an informational lecture is held, during which interested students are informed about the application process, the participating host institutions, the implementation process of the PT, their obligations, and any changes to the PT Program.
